Privacy notice
This notice explains which data TEX Remove processes for background removal and when it is deleted. It applies to the Remove pages.
Updated:Controller and contact
The controller and contact details are identified in the central legal notice. You can also use that contact for privacy requests. Other tools and external linked websites may process data differently; this notice describes TEX Remove only.
Images and processing purpose
Selecting an image initially keeps it on your device. Only when you start background removal is the selected file, including any embedded metadata, transferred to the TEX server over an encrypted connection.
We process the file to remove the background and provide the result. Images are not published, sent to external AI image services or used to train AI models. The tool does not identify people shown in images.
Memory and automatic deletion
The background-removal service processes image files and results temporarily in memory and does not save them as image files on the server. Once your browser has received the result, the page requests deletion of the server copy. If that request cannot be confirmed, the page displays a notice and lets you request deletion again.
The server removes the associated image and result data no later than 15 minutes after the job was created. When you cancel, a calculation already in progress may finish, but its result is discarded.
Previews, image corrections and the received PNG remain in the open tab’s memory. Deleting the server copy does not delete your original file or results already downloaded to your device.
Technical data and abuse prevention
Technically necessary access data, including your IP address, is processed to establish connections, deliver content and operate the service. For abuse prevention, the background-removal service derives a pseudonymous identifier from the IP address and counts associated requests. This identifier is not the same as anonymous statistics.
Usage-limit entries are deleted no later than one hour after the last recorded request. The background-removal service does not maintain regular access logs containing image content. Technical error logs maintained by the server and hosting infrastructure are separate.
Legal bases and required information
Providing the service you request is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your personal data is involved. Secure operation and abuse prevention are based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a reliable service protected against overload.
You are not required to upload an image. Server-side background removal is not possible without sending the image file. Only submit images of other people if you are entitled to process and share them.
Browser and other services
The Remove pages do not use advertising or analytics trackers or tracking cookies. Fonts and example images are served by this website. When you visit /remove, your browser chooses German or English based on its preferred language. The language is recorded in the URL and is not saved in cookies or persistent browser storage.
Image analysis runs on a server managed by the operator. Hosting providers may have access to necessary data as part of providing the technical infrastructure. Operator details and a contact for hosting questions are available in the legal notice.
External links, such as the legal notice or image licence, send a request to the destination only when opened. The destination’s privacy notice applies there.
Your rights
Subject to applicable legal requirements, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation.
You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, work or an alleged infringement. For privacy requests, use the contact in the legal notice.
